Brussel

Brussel, a friendly capital city in western Europ, is almost my favorite european city in stead of Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome and ... Heidelberg.

It's not so easy to describe my feelings there. The city is a little bit like Shanghai, which has a combination of old and new areas. You can see the old buildings in gotic style with delicated sculptures. Just turn a round in the european recidence the high buildings in the whole night light are to be seen, so are the oderly green, the wide streets and the underground stations.

This time we didn't have the stress to visit the city. Like the normal citizens we were just wandering in the city. We read the books in the second hand book shop and tried the halloween costums in an interesting shop. I didn't know the japanese comics are so popular there. Actually my friend Xiaowei told me many japanese comics such as NANA are also welcomed in Germany. To this point I am really out. = =

My surprising is not only the similar arrangement of the whole city, but also the China Town there. The China Town is really not bad. We bought a lot in a China-Supermarkt and the goods were obviously cheaper than in HD. I said that I could have a life in Brussel like in China.--Well, I can speak neither French nor Flemish.

The chocolates are better than in Germany. So the ritter sport was even cheaper. - amazing. I love the mazipan ones especially. :-)

Although we were there only for three days, but the time was really very nice...I'd like to visit this city again if I get another chance.

I'll send Sander a link to your blog entry - I'm sure he'll invite us again if he reads your hymn on his city ^^. And I have to concur with you - it is really a great place. I wouldn't have expected to find a bit of Shanghai in Belgium.

Glad you had such a great time in the city I live in. Indeed you are always welcome to taste some more from Brussels.
Greatings,
